Guests are welcome to check in from 16.00 and ideally by 19.00, but please do let us know if you need to arrive later. Sometimes we can do an earlier check in - please call a day or so in advance of your arrival day to see if this may be possible. Check out time is 10.30 on the day of departure.
GETTING HERE BY CAR
** Please avoid using our postcode OX7 6GG in SATNAV as it is a new code and can be erratic! Use OX7 6DQ to reach The Lamb Inn and then use the directions included below from The Lamb.
If travelling from the South, East or West, join the A40 that links Oxford and Gloucester. At Burford, drive along the High Street, and after the bridge, take the right at the T-junction onto the A361. Follow the road for four miles until you reach Shipton, at which point there will be a sharp right turn. Take the first right after this bend onto Upper High Street and you will pass The Lamb Inn on your left. Continue just 50 metres along the lane; Kethero Close, where you can find us, is on the left. Once in Kethero Close, you will see Sheepfold facing you at the end of the first approach - the third house counting from the right as you enter the close.
If travelling from the North, follow signs to Chipping Norton. When in Chipping Norton, follow the signs to Burford on the A361 until you reach Shipton. Follow the A361 left into the village. Just after the Cricket Club you will see a sharp right bend in the road, and at this bend continue straight onto onto Upper High Street and you will pass The Lamb Inn on your left. Continue just 50 metres along the lane; Kethero Close, where you can find us, is on the left. Once in Kethero Close, you will see Sheepfold facing you at the end of the first approach - the third house counting from the right as you enter the close.
Parking (one car per room booking, please) is in front of the garage to the left of the house or in the bay opposite.
GETTING HERE BY TRAIN
For guests travelling by train, services from London Paddington, Oxford and Worcester call at Shipton in the early evening (not Sundays) and more frequently everyday at nearby Kingham or Charlbury stations. If you are travelling by train, do telephone us so that we can help with pick-ups or taxi bookings.
Unfortunately we do not accept pets. Of course, this does not apply to registered assistance dogs. Please let us know in advance if you need to bring your assistance dog.
We readily accept children from 10 years upwards; however, the maximum number of guests per room is two. If you are bringing one or more children, and would like to book both rooms, please do ring as it may be possible to book the second room at a discounted price.
DISABLED GUESTS OR GUESTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
Unfortunately, as a small establishment, we have no special facilities for disabled guests, but will do whatever we can to facilitate your stay. Both our bedrooms are on the first floor, with access by a single flight of stairs with two turns in it. Please see our Access Statement for more information, and please ring to discuss any specific needs and we will advise whether we can accommodate these.
BREAKFAST AND SITTING ROOM
At Sheepfold, we have a lovely combined sitting and breakfast room with separate tables. Guests can enjoy this room at any time of day or evening. The room opens onto the garden where, in fine weather, you will find seats for relaxing with a beautiful view. There is a full size table tennis table outside for those with energy!
Guests can enjoy tea or coffee, and cake, indoors or outdoors, and glasses and corkscrew are provided should you wish to enjoy a glass of wine (please bring your own wine as we are not licensed). There is a small fridge for guest use and fresh milk is always available.
BIKE STORAGE, BOOTS, WASHING AND DRYING
Please do let us know in advance of your arrival if you have any allergies. Our varied range of breakfast dishes already aims to accommodate these, but we can of course adapt the ingredients to suit your needs.
We have secure bike storage for those guests who wish to explore the Cotswold hills by bike. There is also an area to dry walking boots and wet-weather clothing. Alongside this, we offer washing and drying facilities at £10 per load of washing and drying. An ironing board and iron are available.
We have an absolutely strict no-smoking policy in the house and its surrounding garden and parking area (and please see further information in Terms and Conditions).
